Wat je gaat doen

As Front Office Manager at Pulitzer Amsterdam, you will be responsible for leading and managing the Front Office and Porters teams. The Front Office Manager has responsibility for all aspects of the Front Office operation; including the guest journey, arrival/departure experience, employee satisfaction and development, as well as departmental culture. This crucial role involves daily oversight, motivation, coaching and guidance of the team, to ensure our guests receive a unique experience.


The successful candidate will be someone who takes ownership, exhibits strong leadership qualities, can successfully translate the company’s and group’s strategic goals into the daily operation, and has a proven track record in the 5-star hotel industry.


The Front Office Manager has responsibility and accountability for the Front Office performance, including guest satisfaction & loyalty, on property revenue generation through upselling/cross selling, departmental (payroll) cost control and employee engagement.


What can you expect:

  • Manage the Front Office and Porters teams in their daily activities.

  • Monitor service quality and optimize processes daily

  • Implement and oversee HRM policies, including recruitment, rosters, absenteeism, turnover, and hours registration.

  • Effectively communicate, hold meetings, and guide the team toward continuous improvement.

  • Lead cost control efforts within the department to ensure healthy margins

  • Ensure and drive the achievement of departmental objectives.

  • Able to establish and maintain open, collaborative relationships with your own team, other departments within Pulitzer Amsterdam, as well as external stakeholders such as regular guests, suppliers and neighbours of the hotel

  • Willing and able to work alternating shifts (both morning/day/evening/night) on a flexible basis on both weekdays, weekends and holidays.


Do you have:

  • Experience as a manager in the five-star market in a hotel of similar size.

  • Experience in leading an operational (hotel) team of >15 employees

  • Experience with Microsoft Office (experience with Opera is a plus)

  • Eye for detail and service excellence

  • A strong desire to lead the team to operational excellence and to create outstanding experiences for our guests.

  • The right attitude and drive to lead by example and be highly visible within the hotel for both guests and colleagues.
